September 12th, 2009
The Markey Machinery Company, Inc (USA) is actively seeking a partner in the South Pacific area. This partner will manufacture and help support machines designed and carrying the Markey brand. An opportunity exists for the right company to produce winches, windlasses, and capstans of the highest quality standards while serving the growing needs of the Australian-region market and demands exceeding our factory production capacity.
Markey’s partners have established facilities, a stable workforce, and production processes oriented toward low rate (prototype) manufacturing. Their facilities include support staff with modern computer/communication resources, heavy lift handling equipment, clean assembly areas, and proximity to ocean shipping terminals. Our partners are adept at sourcing, fabricating, cutting, welding, machining, and finishing metal materials to high tolerances. They draw project teams from a trained cadre of technicians, crafts persons, and assemblers to produce marine quality end-products. The mission and corporate culture is service-oriented as Markey Machinery works side-by-side ensuring each product meets our own high standards as well as our customer’s specifications.

Markey Announces new type of Winch/Tug Control System — DynamicVector “DV” Control
August 31st, 2009
Markey Machinery Company, in collaboration with B.A. Griffin Associates, is introducing its new breakthrough “Dynamic Vector” (DV) control technology. The DV system uses “All Time/Real Time” data gathered from instrumentation integrated into Markey’s Winches to coordinate simultaneous control of the winch and the vessel’s propulsion system to optimize the towline tension, towline length, and bollard pull of the vessel. The new system consists of both hardware and software components. The winch itself is instrumented to collect line tension and scope information. The “Dynamic Vector” control console provides the vessel’s operator with the option of automatically controlling the winch and main engine and propulsion system so that the vessel stays within a predefined hawser force and towline length. Markey currently has two prototype systems in operation on existing vessels and is in discussions with several customers about deployment of the System in a variety of applications including towing, escort and assist work, oceanographic research, mooring, salvage and construction, and other offshore service applications.
